The Manhattan Arts Center Presents Manhattan Experimental Theater Workshop 2020 potent offerings: theater
MXTW presents new works of theater created using the techniques of Gertrude Stein, Betsuyaku Minoru, Antonin Artaud, Young Jean Lee, and the Goat Island Performance Collective and all based on Lewis Carroll's classic novel Alice's Adventures in Wonderland.
MXTW 2020 was held entirely online. We did all of our work together through video conferencing and online resources. This format allowed us to invite people from all over the country to participate so we invited alumni of the program to join as well as current high school students. This year's company is a diverse group people from all over the country ranging in age from 14–43. The online format also allowed us to again collaborate with out sister program the Norwegian Experimental Theater Workshop.
The performances will be streamed as a YouTube Premiere on Saturday June 20th and Sunday June 21st at 7:30 pm CDT. Both performances will be followed by a live talkback with the cast and directors.
